Mission Statement
Getback2action mission is to provide after-school sports and arts classes for pediatric kids and adults who have Leukemia/Lymphoma ages 3-65
Sports
For most pediatric kids, there days are normally spent either in the Hospital or where they lodge. With most families not having money to do much of anything else, Getback2action will provide limited but free sports for kids lodging near the pediatric cancer center. Getback2action plans on having sports like tennis, soccer. baseball and more by 2020. To learn more about the pilot programs for Getback2action, visit our social media pages for updates
Arts
Not all kids grow up and are as physically active as others. And yes, they’re certain days where you may not have the energy to do something physical like sports due to treatment. Thats why Getback2action will provide limited but free Art programs as well. Things like drawing, painting, arts and crafts and hopes to expand in music and dance programs will be available by late 2020. Cancer Cost Awareness
Many families end traveling to cities like New York, looking for the best cancer care for their child. Many pay out of pocket expenses like lodging, clothing, transportation costs. These expense add up quickly. Our Cancer Cost Awareness page breaks down the cost of each transplant according to cancer.org in 2011.
